Remembering Rick

Tomorrow many will be marking that it’s been twelve months since George Michael died.

But me, I’ll be remembering that it was exactly a year ago today that as my train pulled into the station on Christmas Eve, my phone went white hot as people – many of them readers of these pages – got in touch because Quo guitarist Rick Parfitt had died.

I’m not going to dwell on it, though. You all knew this was coming:

Status Quo – It’s Christmas Time

More soon.

  1. I remember well getting in touch last year after hearing about the death of Rick – What an ending to an awful year of loss I thought. Then of course we had George Michael “the very next day”. This year has not been so brutal for me so long may it continue.

No more from me but enjoy the rest of Christmas Eve and hope Santa brings fine things for your stocking!

  2. Hard to believe that this, and the other significant losses of 2016, are now a year or more ago – as Alyson says, it does at least feel that this year hasn’t been quite so brutal in that respect.
I said I’d say it again (and so did you!) – so Happy Christmas once more Jez, and thanks again for all the great posts. Hope you have a good one.
