Sunday Morning Coming Down

In 2013, Creedence Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty released “Wrote a Song for Everyone”,  an album of duets and re-worked versions of tunes from his back catalogue.

As with many of these kinds of projects, some work, some don’t.

This is one that does; featuring Alan Jackson, whose own brand of Country is a bit too ten gallon hat for my tastes.

That said, this version turns down the rock and ups the country aspects  of the original to just about the right extent:

  1. I know what you mean about Alan Jackson. Every now and then, he’ll do something amazing: It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere is a classic… but the rest of the time, he’s just a bit TOO red check shirt.
