It’s Chriiiistmas!!!

Only a few more days to go now, so I thought I’d pass the time by posting a couple of Christmassy tunes a day, maybe more if you’re lucky, trying to find the lesser known ones which may have passed you by, with maybe a couple of classics thrown in for good measure. In other words, any old tut I feel like posting.

First, a couple of songs which are anything but old tut; a cover of a well-known Christmas classic, given the whole gorgeous Sarah Cracknell silky smooth vocal treatment. From their rather lovely “A Glimpse of Stocking” album:

Saint Etienne – Driving Home For Christmas

And whilst we’re on distinctive voiced female indie starlets doing covers of Christmas standards, from their 1993 “Snow” EP (which, disappointingly is not a tribute to the act featured in last night’s post):

Cocteau Twins – Frosty The Snowman

More soon.
